What we do?
Professional certification, trade certification, or professional designation, and what they really mean both to employers and to would-be employees, can be confusing. To help clear up the matter, global representatives from the major companies and organizations that support certifications have joined forces to create a nonprofit international Internet Certification Council, the IC-Council.org (Internet Certification Council). The ICC is an alliance of organizations dedicated to assuring competency, and high level of professionalism by encouraging and setting the Standards for licensing, certification, and credentialing programs globally.
Vision
The Council's goal is to become the "Premiere" resource for employers, government leaders, academics and others who want information about Professional Certification.
Mission
The ICC accredits certification programs offered by certification entities and educational institutions. The Council also issues profession-wide trade certificates and designations, through a rigid and comprehensive training and testing procedures that ensure the integrity and the highest quality of its certification program.
Why Accredit Your Certification Program?
Certification programs measuring individual’s knowledge and skills in several fields have exploded in number and variety in the past couple of years. Unfortunately not all certification programs are structured and managed in a way that provides viability and assurance to employers.
Certificate issuers seek to accredit their programs to assure their customers that their programs have been evaluated by a neutral accreditation body and have been complying to the certification standards set forth by the accreditation body.
The ICC act as the accreditation body that provides assurance to employers, individuals and interested parties that the certification program has been evaluated by a neutral accreditation body and that they conform to industry best practices with regards to certification programs and processes.
